UNLV Public History Workshop

During the summer of 2019, I participated in a public history internship
featuring the Walking Box Ranch. Collaborating with UNLV Public History Director Dr. Deirdre Clemente, I assisted in moving the Walking Box Ranch's collection to its temporary storage. While moving the artifacts, I orchestrated the design of the storage facility. Once the artifacts were placed in the collections room, I organized a Public History Workshop. The workshop consisted of handling and cataloging artifacts, introducing and working with museum databases such as; PastPerfect and OMEKA, and networking with professionals in the public history field. The workshop provided students with the opportunity to explore the public history field.
